Major Junior & Junior Hockey

All players and parents experience the highs and challenges in minor hockey. These experiences become magnified at the Major Junior A level where hockey is a business and dominated by business concerns. The Major Junior hockey cycle starts in May following the minor midget season. Some players will be drafted to Major Junior teams and attend their camps. Others will challenge for the limited number of underage spots on a provincial junior club roster.


A parent and player have a myriad of choices to make often in a short period of time.  The Hockey Group takes the time to sit down with every player and their family to discuss the factors and circumstances and plan in advance with a larger perspective and experience in mind.

The OHL draft creates many expectations, dreams and disappointments. Being selected is a snapshot and recognition of skills and achievement early in a player’s life. We become an important part of the process when deciding upon the options at the Major junior level and otherwise. The advisor knows the adjustments, the details and development challenges within selected clubs. When players are undrafted, develop will occur in different ways and times can still lead to other good opportunities.
